Mantis Shrimp Gastronomic Festival Alcanar

Mantis Shrimp Gastronomic Festival Alcanar

Mantis Shrimp Gastronomic Festival Alcanar – 14th February to 9th March TBC

Alcanar Gastronomic Days of the Mantis Shrimp Delta de l’Ebre-Jornades Gastronomiques de la Galera de les Terres de l’Ebre

This is a festival that 4 different municipalities take part in, so if you’re travelling at that time, or living here, you’ll have a great choice. The municipalities are – Alcanar, l’Ametlla de Mar, l’Ampolla and Sant Carles de la Rapita There are exquisite menus on offer in the restaurants which are taking part. The ingredients are wonderfully fresh and of very high quality, having been sourced from the Ebro region. The mantis shrimp is abundant in areas near river deltas where water is especially rich in nutrients, making it an excellent source of high quality protein, vitamins and minerals. It’s also easy to digest and low in calories. This is the perfect time for foodies to visit the area, and enjoy a great range of locally sourced food, in which the mantis shrimp plays the starring role. Of course you can also choose from an interesting range of wines, as well.

If you are not familiar with Alcanar or Les Cases d’Alcanar, which is a lovely fishing village for relaxing holidays, which has very good food, then consider checking out our Alcanar Travel Guide

Also, worth a mention, is that both the town of Alcanar and the fishing village of Les Cases d’Alcanar have a good choice of quality restaurants, and we like a number of these. However I would like to mention one in particular, as we did have an exceptional experience there, and I have reviewed it, follow the link to find out more about this great restaurant in Alcanar – Please note that this restaurant has now moved to Peñiscola – which is worth the trip, as it’s a lovely spot also.
