Tarragona Human Castles Festival
Tarragona Human Castles-Castells
Festival Date: 24-06-2015
Running from the 24th June until the 24th September, is the Human Castles, that are one of the many proud elements of Catalan culture.
Tarragona, through this festival, brings us closer to the amazing Catalan ‘human towers’, the cultural element which UNESCO designated to be included in their World Heritage list. Taking part in this unique festival gives you the chance to share the bravery, the strength, the smartness and the equilibrium of the world of the human tower. There will never be a better way to enjoy the experience of actually being part of a living culture.
However it’s not only the Human Castles that are a part of UNESCO, so is the Roman City of Tarraco in Tarragona a UNESCO Heritage Site – you can find out that and other UNESCO sites of Catalonia by clicking on UNESCO Heritage in Catalonia

A New York Times critic, Florence Fabricant, said this about Tarragona: “We left Tarragona feeling as though we had been let in on a wonderful secret that told not only of the reach of ancient Rome, but of other historic periods, layered within and around the city. And that the secret was meant to be shared.”
